Associated Press
KOKOMO,  Ind. — Police posted an around-the-clock security watch at the home of an Indiana soldier killed last week in Iraq after it was vandalized and his family received disturbing phone calls.

The home of Sgt. Rickey Jones was egged Saturday, three days after Jones' family learned the 21-year-old and three other soldiers had been killed by a roadside bomb north of Baghdad. His family also received phone calls in which the caller said: "I'm glad your son is dead."

Yet another shining example of the "support" exhibited by liberals towards US Soldiers and their families. You can read more about this abuse at the blog: A Soldier's Perspective.

This blog is offering the opportunity for anyone who is disgusted by the treatment of this family to submit letters of support which will be delivered to the family of SGT. Rickey Jones. Whether you support the war in Iraq or not, the attacks against the family of SGT. Jones goes beyond the bounds of common decency and are an affront to the principles of an open, tolerant society.

In addition to this letter writing campaign, there are other organizations that could use your help in their endeavors to support our troops:

Project Valour IT
Wounded Warrior Foundation
Special Operations Warrior Foundation
Soldiers Angels
A Million Thanks
America Supports You
Operation Iraqi Children
NRA

The blog owner's hate-mongering over something this tragic is par for the course. It wasn't "liberals" who harassed the family. It would actually fit into the modus operandi of the owner of this blog. Just spreading more hate. That's why Obama will be our next president. The great majority of Americans are tired of the right-wing and all their failures.

"Members of the Westboro Baptist Church have protested at military funerals across the nation, including shouting insults at soldiers’ surviving relatives and holding signs that read “God Made IEDs” — a reference to roadside bombs. The group claims American soldiers are dying in Iraq due to divine intervention because the United States harbors homosexuals".

Doesn't sound like Liberal to me.

I agree with you that this is pathetic hateful behaviour but you should not ignorantly point the finger at liberals who would not have sent soldiers to die in Iraq in the first place. You fail to understand that liberals support the troops as well as innocent Iraqi civilians more than you you do! US soldiers would not be dying in Iraq if we weren't there!

um, if you follow the link, you find that the harrassment is coming from the lunatic fringe on the far right-wing. and it has absolutely nothing to do with "liberals," who are instead as a movement cultivating the families of bereaved soldiers as an important constituency and persuasive moral force. admittedly you would have to do a little research to find that story, but that's out there as well.

reading is fundamental.

There are all kinds of punitive damages families who get this kind of harrassment can sue individuals for that do this. All they need is a half way decent lawyer and people caught doing this will be paying for many years to the family.
